Troy Brosnan wanted a "unicorn" tire with a center tread design that could easily support high speeds and with sidewall caps that could support world-class cornering speeds. Using our Rekon, Minon DHF and High Roller II tread designs as a starting point, Troy and our engineering team began development on the Dissector during the 2018 World Cup season. All center caps have a decided ramp to minimize drag, but keep the edges flat and sharp across the entire height to provide strong traction under braking. Small incisions give the caps additional flex, increasing their surface area during braking and helping transition into the sidewall caps when cornering. The C-shaped sidewall caps are alternately positioned toward the centerline and outward. This tread pattern reduces uncertainty in cornering transition from the center to the shoulders. A distinct channel along both sides of the center caps along with a wide spacing between all caps helps remove debris.
